Accountable for creating detailed component specifications, developing engineering procedures and guidelines, aiding in design, development, and validation of new accessories. Employee will work closely with the Project Team, Designers, and the Validation Team to ensure new accessory components are meeting key deliverables and achieving industry leading standards. In addition, must also work with Industrial Design, Central PG&A Team, Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Create specifications for new or modified ORV accessories Initiate and maintain DFMEAs and DVP&Rs for ORV accessories Lead ORV accessory design reviews (ARR, PDR, CDR) Participate in key project milestones including Team Meetings, interfacing System Design Reviews, Gate Reviews, and Safety Reviews Organize and participate in accessory testing trips Work with the Quality team for root cause analysis activities and document lessons learned Work with the Purchasing Team to select appropriate vendors and manufacturing solutions Gather, analyze, track and report on warranty and other consumer quality information related to system Interact and direct resources across multiple engineering sites and multiple countries Domestic and international travel can be required ( Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent required Excellent verbal and written communication skills required High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment required Ability to ride ORV vehicles for the purpose of testing is highly preferred Experience in product engineering preferred Experience with a CAD modeling package such as Creo preferred Experience with bolted joint analysis, GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups, and experience with engineering standards preferred Data acquisition experience preferred Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
