Job DescriptionAVP - Software engineering will be responsible for designing and developing financial software applications using Agile approach. He/she will be working with application architects, business analysts, other developers, and QA analysts (both in-house and vendor) while being fully responsible for development deliverables.. Strong knowledge of application development in Java will be key.Individual will be responsible for:Designing and developing financial software applications primarily using JAVA/J2EE .Evaluating functional requirements for new requests, estimating effort involved and determining resource allocations that each request would require.Technical leadership of geographically spread out team of developers working on the design, coding and delivery of web 2.0 interface using React JS, Redux , Java and Oracle/Postgres.Conducting daily scrums with development team.Conducting code reviews, design reviews, architecture reviews.Documenting the design and code as per the PDLC standards.Working in Agile environment, estimating effort and tracking progress towards key deliverables.RequirementsBachelor's in Engineering/Computer science7+ year of total software development experience.3-4 years of team leadership experience5+ years Hands-on experience in design, development, testing and operational support of Java, J2EE, JMS, SOAP, SQL, JSON, XML based applications.Knowledge of Agile system development life cycle, and system and application program development.Demonstrated team playerIndividual demonstrates core valuesMust-have skills and experience:Experience with Java based frameworks: JPA, Springboot, Spring framework.Experience with Microservices and design patterns.Agile Scrum experience., while displaying familiarity/experience with other SDLC approaches.Experience in SOA with understanding of Web Services (REST and SOAP)Experience with Spring, Hibernate etcSQL and database knowledge (Oracle/Postgres)Experience with Angular js or React/Redux.Experience with JBoss Studio, Eclipse and/similar IDE toolsKnowledge of build/dependency management tools such as Maven, SCM (Subversion, Bit Bucket)Experience in application containerization, familiar with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Platform9, ECS, EKS, Openshift, Cloud FoundryExperience in AWS (API Gateway, IAM, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, Aurora, Glue, DynamoDB, EKS, Docker)Additional skills (a plus):Experience with Messaging like using JMS, IBM /MQ Experience with Pega.Exposure to PythonWorking at Moody'sMoody's (NYSE: MCO) is a global integrated risk assessment firm that empowers organizations to make better decisions.
