Job Description

The Software Engr II - HCAD will work on the design of internal software for the support of applications and project engineering function within IGS. This Software addition to AutoCAD provides drawing tools for IGS SPS equipment for system design that can be utilized for estimating and manufacturing. The Software Engr II - HCAD takes a holistic approach in understanding program design requirements, and project elements, while meeting internal and external customer expectations for the program design. The Software Engr II - HCAD may assume the role as a team member or a lead with the responsibility of understanding the internal/external requirements and delivering per those requirements.

Key Deliverables:

  •  Capable of successfully leading engineering activities for small, medium and large complex projects. Ability to work with diverse cultures and customers.
  • Quality, standard work, schedule of deliverables, technically responsible for, delivery of project, customer expectation, management, proposal support, direction of stream leads, Responsible for estimating, change requirements using standard, processes and tools from start to completion of each project.
  • Delivers the high-level technical solution. Expert knowledge of multiple disciplines.
  • Communicates directly with end customers on issues encountered.  Also capable of explaining system changes to end customers during a release.


Responsibilities:

  • Acts as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the project requirements are fully defined and agreed.
  • Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, and budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produces functional and concept technical design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for assigned projects
  • Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team fully utilizing standard builds & standardized work
  • Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
  • Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group
  • Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
  • Actively contributes in the pre-engineering phase of a project. As such, identifies to the in-house customer which information is required before project starts.
  • Assist project manager PMO in defining and estimating the engineering/technical change of work.
  • Attends all project related turnover meetings and functional design reviews 
  • Manages program requirements and standards
  • Manages mechanical design efforts in line with program requirements and standards
  • Monitors project progress and issues from a program perspective
  • Ensures proper test plans and test cases are created
  • Performs project audit to ensure program account standards are being met.
  • Reviews and consults on open issues; assists with any customer escalations
  • Contributes to lessons learned post-mortem engineering review, providing program account expertise and historical perspective
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Software engineering, Computer sciences, or equivalent experience

Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience with C-#
Full understanding of Sequel databases for management and structure.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
AutoCAD programming a Plus
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

Abilities:     
Functional checking of code design
Implementation and checking of pricing and oracle data transfer validation.
Sequel database data input and querying through code design
Customer service and support of user base of program
Release development for update and new enhancements
Conducting analysis of complex problems to evaluate options and implementing solutions to meet customer expectations
Communicating, interacting, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers at all levels while fostering cooperation and teamwork within the department

Has an understanding of the marketplace and general business environment.
Understands what the key business excellence initiatives are within Honeywell
Understands how different functions within his/her own organisation interrelate to each other
Understands and is familiar with the Honeywell values
Knows the overall key business objectives and goals
Understands Honeywell’s overall financial strategy in terms of revenue growth, profit growth, working capital improvement, shareholder value goals
Has a full understanding of complex product coding for HCAD, able to diagnose problems, and explain findings to analyst.
