DLR Grouphas an opening for an Interior Designer, K-12

DLR Group operates within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Location: Charlotte NC

Position Summary:

As an Interior Designer at DLR Group you will be working as part of integrated design teams responsible for the design and delivery process.You will be responsible for collaborating on the design of complex projects. You will partner with internal partner disciplines, vendors, and consultants as needed. Additionally, you mayoccasionally interview in front of clients to win work.

The successful candidate will:

Prepare and develop with the team, as required, drawings, models, images, material & mood boards and other documents relating to the design.
Have strong client and time management skills.
Estimatefees, determinescope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Take responsibility for the development of the design and the project with input from the Principal in Charge and/or the Design Leader for key project stages.
Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, capacity for conceptual design thinking, and 3D design/modeling ability.
Will gain thorough knowledge of and compliance with DLR Group standards.
Develop project Work Plans (schedule, budget, cartoon set) for project success.

Required Qualifications

3-5 years of experience designing commercial interior projects in the K-12 Industry.
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or equivalent.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
Ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with SketchUp and some 3D rendering software
NCIDQ certification.
Have interest in sustainable building design.
