This position requires strong communication and verbal skills for communicating with ship forces, vendors and peers. Candidates must be capable to work under pressure, multi-task, and work in fast paced environment. Duties will include providing support services for East Coast shipboard installations in the areas of scheduling, status reporting, de-conflicting converging efforts of other agencies and contractors other than NIWC. Review and red line installation drawings a plus.Responsibilities and DutiesProvide the NIWC CANES AIT Manager with on-site installation management oversight of shipyard and other installation contractors and tradesmen. Candidate liaisons between the NIWC OSIC /TD and the NIWC AIT Manager to adjudicate issues that will affect installation production and system testing. Review installation drawings, makes recommendations for red-lines and develop LARS. Attend Production Meetings, develop and maintain installation POA&Ms. Makes decisions on the deck-plates to deconflict issues that slow production. Daily tour of assigned vessels, noting observations, interface with contractors, government and ships force personnel and provide Daily SITREP Reports (DSRs) to the CANES AITM.Qualifications and SkillsRequired knowledge and years of experience10 years of direct experience installing and managing teams for large and complex C4ISR systems.Direct experience managing daily deckplate operations and installation teams for periods of time lasting up to 6 months. Knowledge and experience with non-electrical components that support C4ISR programs including structural, cable, electrical, piping, and HVAC modifications. Strong background in testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits, and interpreting electronic block wiring diagrams. General knowledge of shipboard communication and LAN systems. Ability to read communication system installation drawings, and cable run sheets. Testing, troubleshooting and fault isolation.
