Develop and design chemical manufacturing processes. You will apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve problems that involve the production or use of chemicals, fuel, drugs, food, and many other products. You will use your broad knowledge to help run experiments and tests to aid in the development of improved manufacturing procedures and processes.
Responsibilities: •Meeting budgeted hours, planned schedule, and agreed-upon level of quality on assigned project work. •Communicating with the project manager on required changes to budget, schedule, or quality level on assigned project work. •Communicating with the project manager on progress on assigned project work. •Keeping up-to-date with current technology developments in the instrument-and-systems control area. •Interfacing with customer to determine project instrumentation and control system requirements. •Producing a complete definition of instrument requirements incorporating applicable code and customer requirements. •Modify and review P&IDs •Preparing instrument/controls detail design including Instrument specifications and requisitions, Control narratives, Control system functional specifications, Stewardship of Process Technology Instrument design manuals. New Process Development. •Analyzing operating units and recommending solutions to technical problems relating to instrumentation and control, •Lead teams of Instrument Engineers executing the Instrumentation and Controls design for multi-unit complexes.
YOU MUST HAVE •Electrical, or Chemical Engineering BS degree required, or 10+ years’ equivalent work experience. •Minimum 5 years’ experience with process instrumentation, procurement, and construction
WE VALUE •Oil / refinery or petrochemical industry experience is preferred, but will consider power / energy, food, or other chemical processing experience. •Knowledgeable of NFPA/API/ ISA standards •Ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Travel is typically less than a week at a time, 10% total. •Excellent teamwork and communication skills are needed to be successful.
