At Honeywell Advanced Connected Sustainability Technologies (ACST), our outstanding team of scientists, engineers, and professionals develop groundbreaking technology by applying their expertise in complex hardware and software control systems, ultra-high vacuum environments, cryogenics, cyber security, and more.

Honeywell’s ACST team is seeking a highly qualified Sr. Advanced Physicist with significant experience in cryogenic design, analysis measurement and control of electromagnetic systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation and detection in optical, microwave and RF frequencies. Of particular interest for this role is the ability to identify and understand the technical challenges of tightly coupled electromagnetic/thermal environments, and to innovate in Far-IR/mm-Wave sensing and detection. 

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Designing and conducting fundamental experiments in optical/IR sensing and detection
  • Analyzing and interpreting results using modeling/simulation tools
  • Partnering with subject matter experts to design and/or operate cryogenic systems
  • Participating in high-impact projects that makes the world better

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain government security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science field
  • Experience with electromagnetic wave propagation and optical/IR sensing and detection

WE VALUE:

  • Master’s or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Initiative for taking on fundamental physical investigations in electromagnetics
  • At least 5 years of optical/IR sensor development and characterization
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulations tools such as CST Microwave Studio, Ansys HFSS, Lumerical FDTD, COMSOL
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing concepts and experience scripting job schedulers for complex simulations and calculations
  • Exposure to the design and/or operation cryogenic systems
  • Knowledge of the dynamics present in tightly coupled electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical systems
  • Basic knowledge of device fabrication and characterization, foundry process, etc.

Compensation & Benefits:
Non-Incentive Eligible 
Salary Range: $118,000.- $176,000.
