Job Description Internal Building Inspector / Construction Quality Coordinator Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Internal Building Inspector to support construction teams by identifying potential issues, improving quality, and helping projects pass inspections the first time. This role is ideal for someone with a solid construction background who understands how jobsites operate and can spot problems before they become costly delays, or a superintendent fed up with the grind. This position will work closely with field teams and grow into a key resource for maintaining consistency and quality across projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine jobsite walkthroughs during various phases of construction
- Identify potential code issues, quality concerns, and incomplete work prior to inspections
- Work alongside superintendents and subcontractors to address and correct issues
- Assist in preparing projects for municipal or state inspections
- Document findings with simple reports and photos
- Review basic plans and scopes to ensure work aligns with project intent
- Help track recurring issues and communicate trends to leadership
- Support general quality control efforts across multiple job sites
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of construction experience (residential or commercial)
- General understanding of building practices (framing, MEP basics, finishes, etc.)
- Ability to read basic blueprints and construction documents
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills with field teams and subcontractors
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior inspection experience (municipal or private)
- Familiarity with building codes or inspection processes
- Background as a foreman, lead carpenter, or assistant superintendent
- OSHA certification or safety training
