Job Description:
As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring
the smooth running of daily operations, including weekly team scheduling, payroll, managing house protocols and overall space standard while building team success + culture and maintaining quality control of space. You will act as the face of the company and ensure that members feel welcome and that our team's customer service is top notch.
Core ResponsibilitiesOperations & SystemsDesign, implement, and continuously improve operational systems, workflows, and processes across the house
Translate high-level vision into clear plans, timelines, and execution frameworks
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment
Maintain excellence in facilities and customer service to meet the organization's highest standards, ensuring member happiness and retention
People & Team LeadershipBuild, lead, and support a high-performing team aligned with The Portal's values
Set clear roles, expectations, and accountability structures
Foster a culture of trust, ownership, and excellence
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, setting clear individual and team objectives
Provide coaching and performance evaluations to foster professional growth and ensure alignment with organizational goals
Business & Financial LeadershipOwn overall business performance, including revenue, margins, and forecasting
Develop and manage annual and quarterly operating plans
Make resourcing and investment decisions across departments
Member Experience & CultureDrive initiatives to enhance member satisfaction and retention by cultivating a high-performance, member-focused culture
Ensure staff are effectively onboarded, engaged, and equipped to exceed growth and retention goals
Own the holistic member journey, from first interaction through long-term retention
Develop systems that make members feel seen, supported, and connected
Gather and translate member feedback into operational and experiential improvements
Leadership & CollaborationLead and support department managers
Partner directly with the CEO & CFO to execute the company's vision and strategic initiatives
Balance creative intuition with operational rigor
Act as a calm, steady presence during complex or high-pressure moments
Continuously refine how The Portal scales without losing its core values

Qualifications:
Proven experience in membership management, operations, or customer service, ideally within the wellness or fitness industry.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team.
Annual Salary:
$120,000 starting salary

Health insurance, dental, vision; 401k, free usage of longevity spa remedies subject to availability; sick pay is accrued 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, PTO will start at 10 days in the first year of employment and increase to 14 days in the second year of employment
