Position Summary
The IT Technician supports the organization's technology infrastructure by providing hardware, software, network, and end-user support across multiple business locations. This role is responsible for maintaining technology systems, troubleshooting issues, supporting retail and operational technologies, and ensuring consistent system functionality to support day-to-day business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain point-of-sale (POS) systems and related reporting platforms to ensure consistent communication and operational accuracy.
- Collaborate with site leadership to resolve daily operational and system processing issues.
- Configure, install, and support POS systems, computer hardware, and technology infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Analyze system and transaction trends to identify user errors, performance concerns, or operational discrepancies.
- Partner with management and internal stakeholders to investigate technology-related security or loss prevention concerns.
- Install, configure, update, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and related technologies.
- Support network access, connectivity, and system performance for end users.
- Monitor and assist with cybersecurity and endpoint protection measures.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and system-related issues in a timely manner to minimize operational disruption.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance, and emergency technical support requests.
- Support the implementation and adherence to IT security standards, policies, and best practices.
- Conduct site assessments for network infrastructure, including recommendations for equipment placement, cabling, and communications systems.
- Provide end-user onboarding, technical guidance, and training on systems, devices, and business technologies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for IT assets, software licensing, and equipment.
- Demonstrate initiative, continuous learning, and adaptability to emerging technologies.
- Collaborate effectively in both independent and team-oriented environments.
- Provide occasional after-hours or on-call support when business needs require.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel between business locations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and time-sensitive requests.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate standard office technology and basic technical equipment.
- Understanding of workplace safety and security practices.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent technical certifications and experience considered.
- 2–3 years of hands-on IT support experience, preferably in a multi-site, retail, or operations-driven environment.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, software, and network environments.
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments
- Active Directory and user account administration
- Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
- Network infrastructure, endpoint security, backup technologies, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+) or Microsoft certifications preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and after-hours support as needed.
- Must be able to travel between company locations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, and equipment setup.
