Position Summary
Made Scientific is a U.S.-based cell therapy contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in the development, manufacturing, and release of autologous and allogeneic cell therapy products for clinical and commercial supply. Our team of expert scientists, engineers, operations and quality professionals work with our clients to translate groundbreaking treatments into the clinic. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of the organization's facilities. This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Supervise and train facilities staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintenance Oversight: Plan, coordinate, ensure completeness of maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all facilities meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the facilities budget, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
- Project Management: Plan and execute engineering projects, coordinating with other departments to meet operational goals.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and inefficiencies, implementing corrective/preventative actions as needed.
- Reporting: Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and project status for management review.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in GMP building maintenance or a similar role, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices. Experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cell and gene therapy equipment.
- Certification in equipment calibration and/or maintenance.
- Certification for handling Boilers.
- Certification in relevant tradeswork.
- Relevant certification (e.g. Certified Facility Manager) are plus.
Required Degree
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of facilities maintenance experience
- Or associate's degree combined with relevant experience in facilities maintenance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be willing to be gown qualified and work in a sterile facility, up to Grade B.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to bend, kneel, carry, reach, climb or stand on an elevated bench or step stool.
- Must be willing to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Must be willing to work with cell-based products, chemicals or hazardous materials.
