Facilities Outage Coordinator provides assistance as directed by the Facilities Outage Superintendent in the coordination and oversight of scheduled Facilities and Utilities Outages. The person in this position:
- Oversees any services provided by an outside source or manufactured in-house, which facilitate building operations (e.g., gas, water, electricity, fire suppression water, fi re alarm systems, etc.) for Facilities Management Medical Center
- Reviews with ‘requester’, workforce member or authorized designee to input or generate utility outage requests in the utility outage system, and to clearly define the full scope of tasks to be completed during an outage
- Estimates time, materials and staffing
- Collects and captures all data associated with the requisition and completion of a planned utility outage
- Investigates related systems to be isolated by reviewing facilities’ files and/or as-builds
- Compiles all information and verifies in the field to confirm and document the impact and scope of the utility outage
- Coordinates best time frame for outage with customers, end-users, affected parties, contractors, et al.
- Coordinates with managers, supervisors, superintendents, infection control, hospital safety, security, engineering controls, administration, emergency transport, campus utilities, campus heating/cooling, and parking
- May send the final notification of approval, including date/time and pertinent details, to appropriate customers and clients affected by an outage as directed by the Superintendent.
In addition, this position:
- Is charged with overseeing utility outage executions, including any source of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, or other energy
- Follows a plan of action to accomplish specific tasks
- Develops an alternate means of operation during an outage, if needed
- Maintains time schedules and addresses any situation(s) which may arise due to the outage
- Assists in providing direction and coordination to resolve any issues
- Coordinates with all stakeholders, including Facilities Management staff, contractors, and vendors participating in the planning, implementation, and execution of a utility outage
- Keeps Superintendent, management, and other concerned parities informed of outages scheduled, in-process, and completed
- Serves as point-of-contact, 24/7, for all contractors for emergency or unscheduled outages
