Job Description
Summary:
The Indirect Procurement Buyer with Purchase-to-Payment (P2P) coordination is responsible for supporting the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for non-production goods and services, including sourcing, purchasing, supplier negotiation, and managing the full purchase-to-payment process. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, Shared Services and finance teams to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and timely procurement and payment execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Indirect Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
• Executes procurement orders for emergency items for the specific production site and is the key contact for Safran Shared Services, who are responsible for 95% of the placed orders.
• Manages the requisition system for the Sarasota site, ensuring budget numbers are correct for the purchase allocation and ensuring orders are placed on time by shared services.
• Responsible for Credit Card - emergency purchases. Ensures requisitions and quotations are all in the reconciliation done monthly.
• Must build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders and shared services to align sourcing objectives with business requirements.
• Support supplier, and functional leads (ie: IT) to the execution of agreements for printers and computers.
Purchase-to-Payment (P2P) Coordination
• Coordinate the full procure-to-pay lifecycle: review requisitions, create and issue purchase orders, ensure accurate receipt of goods/services, validate invoices, and facilitate on-time vendor payments.
• Match purchase orders to invoices and goods receipts (2-way/3-way matching), identify discrepancies, and collaborate with suppliers and accounts payable to resolve issues.
• Maintain procurement and P2P system data on MRP/ERP platforms.
• Partner with Finance/Accounts Payable to support payment accuracy, cash-flow considerations, compliance controls, and timely processing.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
• Ensure that Shared Services sends us on a monthly basis the P2P metrics, supplier performance, and savings opportunities to inform the Sarasota site.
• Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities to streamline workflow, reduce manual effort, and improve quality control in both procurement and P2P operations.
• Provide guidance and support to internal teams on procurement policies and P2P best practices.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• HS Degree or Equivalent (GED)
• 1-3+ years in procurement (especially indirect categories) and familiarity with P2P processes (requisition to payment).
• Demonstrated ability to manage procurement transactions, negotiate with suppliers, and support end-to-end P2P operations.
• Proficiency with ERP/P2P systems (SAP,) and strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration across functions (procurement, finance, operations).
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of procurement governance.
