Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Works with Value Stream team to identify and apply continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness
- Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Supports senior engineers in research, design and development of manufacturing processes including welding schedules, production flow, assembly methods, production equipment and machining.
- Project management of identified capital equipment projects
- Applies failure analysis to determine root causes of problems and failures and develops solutions or recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
- Evaluates equipment requirements, performs cost analyses, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.
- Coordinates all pre-production activities including sample evaluation, design qualification and prototype production.
- Provides documentation and detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly of materials, assemblies, and finished products.
- Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
- Proficient with design software to perform engineering and design tasks.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of best practice Lean vision, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Assist technicians and/or maintenance with troubleshooting, building and/or assembly of various machines and equipment as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:- Experience with and knowledge of solid modeling, SolidWorks or AutoCAD engineering design software, and engineering materials and their properties.

Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years relevant manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
