Under the general supervision of the Business Services Officer (Supervisor), the incumbent will be responsible for establishing clerical procedures and independently performing the more difficult clerical duties for Support Services. Specifically, the Office Technician (Typing) will perform essential office, procurement, contract and Fi$cal duties as directed.

1. BE LIST ELIGIBLE: Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam pertaining to this classification at:
- Office Technician (Typing) Exam Bulletin or
- Office Technician (General &Typing) (LEAP) Exam Bulletin
2. BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE: Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250),
3. BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.

Working Conditions Have the ability to work in a variety of climate, mostly in the office and operating a desktop computer. Lift up to 25 lbs. as needed, operate a golf cart.

Special Requirements - The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. - The position(s) require(s) fluency in the American Sign Language language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.
This position requires the incumbent to understand and follow trainings from CalPCA, principles and procedures listed in State Contracting Manual (SCM) and State Administrative Manual (SAM), to work independently and cooperatively with others; demonstrate good working skills, maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Skill in making basic arithmetical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and others is required. Use of American Sign Language (ASL) is required. ASL classes are offered on-site.
