Overview:
A global freight forwarding and logistics company is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Logistics Clark to join their team near LAX. Under the import and export coordinator, the clerk assists non difficult tasks in collaboration with overseas offices and the internal warehouse team. This role is 80% office-based, focusing on administrative and communication duties. However, responsibilities may expand into warehouse coordination as needed, especially through communication and collaboration with warehouse staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable supporting operations in both office and warehouse settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Coordinate and monitor daily shipments to ensure smooth and timely processing.
Confirm that required documents are received from overseas offices and submit them promptly to Customs Brokers.
Track customs clearance status with U.S. Customs and relevant government agencies and follow up when necessary.
Communicate shipment status updates and notify customers of any delays, holds, or irregularities.
Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Support warehouse operations, including verifying piece counts upon arrival and assisting with basic cargo handling tasks when needed.
Monitor inventory levels for shipments stored in warehouse, cooler, or freezer facilities, and assist with inventory counts.
Prepare and issue freight quotes, working with the team to provide competitive pricing.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, fees, and system updates.
Assist with file closing by reviewing vendor invoices, checking accuracy, and issuing customer billing according to agreed fee schedules.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through timely and professional communication.
Learn and stay informed about related regulations and share relevant updates with customers as needed.
Perform additional administrative or operational support tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:
Japanese-English bilingual ability (conversational level or higher).
Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
Good time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to drive a company vehicle when required (valid driver's license).
Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
