About the Director Technical Enablement & Integration:The Technical Enablement and Integration Director is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimizing all technical aspects of Avalon’s implementation and maintenance lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration between client systems and internal platforms. This role not only manages technical delivery but also drives continuous process improvement, automation, and scalable solution design across implementations. The Technical Enablement & Integration role serves as the central technical authority ensuring all technical components of client onboarding, configuration, integration, and system validation are delivered with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. This role combines deep technical integration expertise with a forward-looking focus on enablement, automation, and repeatability. By driving both technical rigor and operational enablement, this role supports Avalon’s broader strategy to streamline implementations, improve overall product quality, strengthen decisioning accuracy, and optimize technical delivery capabilities.
This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to Avalon's corporate office located in Tampa, Florida.
Director Technical Enablement & Integration – Essential Functions and Responsibilities:- Establish and lead an enterprise-wide testing function, defining standardized strategies, governance, and reusable frameworks that support implementation testing, regression, platform releases, and post-production validation across the organization.
- Serve as the central authority for platform readiness and regression assurance, providing documented, auditable evidence to support Go/No-Go decisions for core releases, client onboarding, and production changes.
- Lead and develop the technical integration team, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and consistent delivery quality.
- Lead and develop the Implementation and Regression Quality approach and team within Avalon’s operational model.
- Serve as the primary technical owner for integration activities, including interface design, data mapping, requirements, and system validation.
- Collaborate with IT engineering teams, QA, and client technical stakeholders to ensure accuracy, stability, traceability, and alignment across all LBM programs.
- Standardize technical procedures, reusable components, and configuration playbooks to reduce variability and improve implementation efficiency.
- Enable and mature technical and QA teams through role clarity, training, and capability development, establishing competency models, onboarding paths, and coaching practices that reinforce accountability, quality rigor, and consistent execution.
- Identify opportunities for automation by evaluating repetitive integration, configuration, and data validation tasks, driving scalable process improvement.
- Translate technical quality and integration risk into executive-level insights, leveraging metrics, dashboards, and structured reporting to inform leadership decisions, client conversations, and continuous improvement initiatives
By driving technical excellence, building scalable automation capabilities, and reducing operational complexity, this leader ensures the reliability, compliance, and performance of Avalon’s Lab Insights solutions while strengthening client satisfaction and accelerating time to first dollar across all implementations. Additionally, this role supports the overall confidence in core release regression testing, providing documented proof of checks and an overall package of testing that is appropriate for both executive and client level conversations.
Director Technical Enablement & Integration – Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or 8 years directly applicable work experience in lieu of degree
- 7+ years of experience in Healthcare IT.
- 5+ years of management experience, either as a manager or team lead.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling visual materials
- Experience implementing test automation frameworks or integration automation tools.
- Familiarity with AI-driven testing, AI-assisted automation, or predictive modeling for defect detection.
- Background in automating technical workflows such as data validation, mapping verification, or configuration checks.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based automation (AWS preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives in technical environments.
- Solid understanding of the HIPAA EDI transaction set, especially 837s.
- Strong experience working with modern cloud technology stacks and API integration.
- Experience with relational data models and SQL.
- Understanding of claim adjudication platforms such as FACETS and QNXT.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team through problem solving and creative solutioning.
- Ability to lead presentations with audiences ranging from technical stakeholders to client executives.
