Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Design of electronic circuits for EMI/EMC, ESD and RF systems, supporting the hardware teams for all the MSA electronic safety products globally.Lead the development of simulation workflows, design guidelines and reference designs for electronics products at MSA.Review and analyze electrical and mechanical designs for new products and troubleshooting of hardware to prevent and resolve EMC issues.Design and review antenna matching networks to optimize RF systems performance and support OTA testing.Work closely with internal and third-party EMC test laboratories to plan, execute, and complete EMC testing for new and existing products.Support and guide PCB design team with best EMC Layout practices.Participate in design reviews for new product designs.
Qualifications
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation). Able to effectively communicate technical information to audiences of all levels, including management and external stakeholdersHighly motivated and self-directed. Ability to perform complex tasks/assignments with limited supervisionDetail oriented, organized, with demonstrated analytical problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment with multiple teams and challenging schedulesProven expertise in circuit design, component selection and PCB physical construction for EMC compliant electronic circuits.Minimal travel required (less than 10%).Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Preferred:
Experience with high speed circuit design, radio transmitter and receiver design, antenna design and EMC fundamentals.Experience working with spectrum analyzers, VNA, OTA anechoic chambers and other EMC test equipment.Experience with setting up and running simulations in tools like Ansys HFSS, Siwave, CST or COMSOL Multiphysics.Working knowledge in wireless technologies, including RFID, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, LTE.Altium / Cadence Allegro electronics design software.Working knowledge with international compliance standards for EMC, RF and Wireless communication.Education and Experience Required:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
This position is available at multiple career levels based upon experience and education.:
Sr. Staff Engineer: 5 years relevant experiencePrincipal Engineer I: 7 years relevant experience MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience
