JOB TITLE - Licensed Physician – Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (ICF/ID & Forensic Setting) AGENCY NAME - Maryland Department of Health (MDH) CONTRACT DETAILS Contract Duration: 3-Year Contract Employment Type: Part-Time Weekly Commitment: Minimum 6 hours per week On-site services required at least 2 days per week, 3 hours per day Start Date: To Be Updated Number of Resumes Required: 1 Right to Represent (RTR): Required WORK LOCATION Hybrid Role On-Site Location: 1380 Marshall Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 ON-CALL REQUIREMENT 24/7 on-call coverage for emergencies and new admissions Must respond to on-call requests within one (1) hour Daily on-call consultation coverage from 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM POSITION OVERVIEW / SCOPE The Potomac Center/SETT, under the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), is seeking a qualified Physician to provide on-site and on-call medical services to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), including individuals with co-occurring mental health conditions and forensic involvement. The Physician will function at an intermediate clinical level, providing medical care, oversight, and guidance for residents at the Potomac Center and SETT facilities in Hagerstown, Maryland. All services must comply with ICF/ID standards, Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) requirements, MDH policies, and all applicable Maryland and federal regulations. MANDATORY EXPERIENCE & LICENSURE Active Physician License issued by the Maryland Board of Physicians Copy of license required Minimum 2 years of experience providing medical services in habilitation or ICF/ID settings PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS At least 3 years of experience managing complex clinical or administrative responsibilities Experience in project management or oversight of multidisciplinary healthcare services PHYSICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES – ON-SITE Provide medical care to residents at Potomac Center (up to 62 residents) and SETT (up to 32 residents) Conduct evaluations for all residents, including new admissions and discharges Perform annual physical examinations and additional assessments as clinically required Complete history and physical examinations for new admissions on the next scheduled service day Document Physician Orders, Progress Notes, lab reviews, and consultations Perform monthly resident reviews and manage medication renewals Review 90-day Plan of Care summaries to meet licensure and Title XIX standards Coordinate medical and surgical consultations as needed Provide clinical guidance and oversight to nursing and facility staff Dictate evaluations and submit documentation to Medical Records Sign in and out of the facility for attendance and invoice verification Comply with the no-tobacco-use policy on State property PHYSICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES – ON-CALL Provide 24/7 emergency and new admission coverage Respond to all on-call requests within one (1) hour Assist with emergency medical placements, including coordination with hospitals Arrange approved substitute physician coverage if unavailable, with prior authorization from the Contract Monitor REFERENCES REQUIREMENT Three (3) professional physician references References must be from the past five (5) years Must be able to attest to the physician’s relevant experience Amit Singh Healthcare Recruiter Direct: 510-972-5969 Aroha Technologies Inc. www.arohatechnologies.com
