Position SummaryThe primary function of the Marketing Manager will support GMS sales and marketing efforts by developing and managing marketing initiatives across all regions. This position is responsible for creating demand within the customer base and developing and implementing programs that grow the pipeline, drive revenue, and increase local brand awareness.Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the retail market, sales, and customer needs for all locationsDevelop retail merchandising programs for distribution center showrooms, including inventory planning, store layout, signage, and promotionsCoordinate with GMS Tool distributor, subsidiaries, and vendors to organize and optimize showroom displays, promotional materials, etc.Support planning of local events, advertising, and promotions, ensuring there is a cohesive strategy and brand representationGrow GMS and subsidiary brand awareness in respective market territoriesIncrease qualified leads coming into the pipeline to drive new customer attainmentIdentify needs and coordinate development of sales tools, including presentations, product catalogs, promotion materials, mobile apps, etc.Coordinate sales training to support rollout of new products or promotionsManage national and vendor co-op marketing program rolloutsProvide analysis and reporting on effectiveness of marketing and sales initiativesTrack and manage the use of co-op marketing funds by the subsidiariesReport on regional competitive activity with respect to sales, programs, promotions, and advertisingBasic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Marketing or BusinessMinimum of five years of retail merchandising experienceStrong Microsoft Office skillsKnowledge of building materials and experience in the construction industry preferredCore CompetenciesStrive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrityEmbody the principles of servant leadership, even in a non-people management role, by putting the needs of others first and valuing diverse perspectivesDemonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute, and/or delegate as needed while collaborating with othersEstablish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organizationHelp champion an inclusive working environment by empowering others and valuing diverse backgrounds and experiencesAbility to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive resultsCommunicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customersPhysical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary position in an office environment approximately 70% of the timeFrequent movement within the office to access files and office machineryAbility to operate basic office machineryAbility to communicate effectively with team members and managementRequired Cognitive SkillsAbility to problem solve and prioritize tasksAbility to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projectsAbility to multitaskAbility to receive and analyze informationAbility to communicate solutions quickly when problems occurAbility to demonstrate sound judgment and initiativeLaunch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.
