About the position:
The Construction Ready Instructor plays a vital role in delivering an approved curriculum to students enrolled in a 20-day training program. This position is essential for equipping trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the construction industry. The instructor employs various teaching methods to ensure that the NCCER-accredited curriculum is effectively conveyed and comprehended. By preparing students to graduate with industry-recognized credentials, the instructor contributes to their future career success. Responsibilities include developing and implementing training programs that comply with NCCER standards, maintaining punctuality and reliability in preparing materials and the classroom, and utilizing diverse instructional techniques to cater to different learning styles. Additionally, the instructor assesses trainee knowledge through both written and practical evaluations, stays informed about industry trends and best practices, and fosters a positive, inclusive learning environment. Collaboration with industry partners is crucial to align training programs with workforce needs, while strong communication skills and proficiency in technology and online resources are necessary to enhance the educational experience.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver NCCER-accredited construction training programs adhering to curriculum guidelines and NCCER standards.
Prepare materials and the classroom for each session in advance, ensuring safety and coordination with appropriate staff.
Utilize a variety of instructional methods to cater to diverse learning styles, including lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations.
Assess trainee knowledge and skills through written and practical evaluations.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in construction safety and skills.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration.
Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training programs meet current workforce needs.
Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance.
Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
1-2 years teaching experience in a vocational setting.
3-5 years experience in the Industry.
NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) is highly desirable.
OSHA Authorized Trainer - Construction is highly desirable.
ATSSA Certified Trainer is highly desirable.
