Role Summary/Purpose: As an Assistant Vice President, API Engineer, you will be a main engineer of our Java microservices helping to lead the entire development process. You will be a leader on an Agile team aligned to a SAFe Agile Release Train, and you'll bring us ideas about how to do things differently. You'll be defining what Software Engineering means here and how it can affect the entire industry.
This role has a particular focus on credit, lending, and underwriting capabilities built in-house as well as interfacing with external parties.

Essential Responsibilities: - Lead a cross-shore development team
- Influence and collaborate with technology, product, and credit stakeholders
- Mentor and influence up and down the chain of command
- Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams
- Participate in agile sprints including planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions and reviews
- Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause and implement fixes
- Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the year
- Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into our products
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and 4 years of software development or technical product management experience, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED, and 6 years of software developer or technical product management experience
- Java Development Experience, particular with Java Spring Boot
- Critical Thinking, creativity, and problem solving
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics: - Deep experience building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST
- Deep Agile expertise
- Strong Java Spring development skills
- Experience with dependency management tools like Maven
- Experience with continuous integration environments like Jenkins
- Experience building and deploying application on Pivotal Cloud Foundry
- Experience with writing unit, integration, and UI test cases
Grade/Level: 10The salary range for this position is
100,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements: - You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
