The Senior Mechanical Engineer - Packaged Chillers, is responsible to contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. You will also support the manufacturing of the product representing the design team through initiating and executing design changes. This position is onsite located at our JADEC engineering center of excellence based in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or able to relocate. Johnson Controls does offer various relocation packages to fit your needs.How you will do itMaintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to fluid, thermal, and other mechanical aspects of air-cooled chillersContributes to the on-time completion of programs and regularly reports on the status of projectsHas proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the productApplies mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED and ASMEWork closely with the design and manufacturing teams in generating layout concepts and system configurations that consider the best balance of cost, performance, and reliability.Coordinate and help execute test programs to validate performance and reliability of mechanical systems and componentsAnalyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test dataGenerate and review technical documentation for use within the product teamWhat you will doRequired BS in Mechanical Engineering7+ years of experience in a related fieldProficient with organizing and processing large amounts of dataStrong understanding of fluid and thermal principlesExperience with product development, project management, and sustaining of configurable systemsAbility to mentor and train other engineers.Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, and product managementHIRING SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $125,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
