As a Power Electronics Intern (Mechanical Design) at OmniOn Power, you will work with the R&D Engineering team supporting them in the product development and evaluation of new technologies for high-density and high-efficiency power supplies. This is an onsite role based in Plano, Texas.
This position reports to: R&D Senior Engineering Manager based in Plano, Texas
The internship is estimated to begin towards the middle to end of May 2026 through mid-August 2026.Your responsibilities:- Participate in the product and technology projects on high-density power supplies
- Assist in modeling and designing of mechanical components and assemblies, and creating CAD drawings
- Assist in thermal design
- Support engineering prototype builds and conduct laboratory tests
- Present the technical results
Qualification/ requirements: Currently enrolled in a B.S, M.S or Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, in the US

Experience in electronics packaging and/ or thermal design:- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools Creo, SolidWorks, etc.
- Familiarity with ANSYS Icepak
- Experience in Windchill and BOM structuring.
- Familiarity with PCB and PCBA, and electrical safety requirements
- Ability to learn quickly and work in teams
- Effective communication skills
