Core4ce is seeking a AWS Cloud Systems Administrator to support cloud-based infrastructure and platform services for a Defense Health Agency (DHA) program. This role supports the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS-hosted systems within a secure, regulated DoD healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate is early-career, technically motivated, and developing hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Linux/Windows administration, and automation-enabled operations, while working under the guidance of senior cloud and DevOps engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day AWS environments, including EC2 instances, AMIs, auto-scaling groups, VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, NACLs, and load balancersMonitor system performance and availability with CloudWatch and other approved toolsProvision, configure, patch, and decommission cloud resources following change processesAdminister Linux and/or Windows systems hosted in AWSManage user access, IAM roles, policies, and service accounts following least-privilege principlesSupport backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery readinessFollow SOPs and runbooks for operational tasksImplement and maintain AWS security best practices, including vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, and audit supportExecute Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and support CI/CD pipeline operationsProvide system inputs for RMF/ATO documentation, security compliance, and DHA/DoD policiesDocument incidents, changes, and resolutions in ticketing systemsParticipate in on-call rotations or scheduled maintenance as needed

Required Qualifications:10+ years of experience supporting cloud, systems administration, or IT operationsActive DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).Foundational knowledge of: AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch), Linux and/or Windows system administration, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processesAbility to follow documented procedures and escalate issues appropriatelyStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
