OverviewThe Princeton University Art Museum seeks a Research Assistant for a position beginning in February 2026 and lasting approximately 17 weeks. They will report to the Duane Wilder, Class of 1951, Associate Curator of European Art, and will work ten hours a week to assist with research related to a 2027 exhibition and publication on Édouard Manet and depictions of the Roma in nineteenth-century Europe.

QualificationsEssential RequirementsThe candidate must have an M.A. in Art History or a related field, with demonstrated research skills and knowledge of nineteenth-century French art history. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience writing and editing museum interpretation.
Preferred RequirementsA PhD or PhD candidacy in art history or a related field and previous museum and/or publication experience are preferred. Reading knowledge of French is a plus.
