Position Summary:SPS Commerce is seeking an Associate Software Engineer II to join our Developer Productivity Engineering (DPE) team. In this role, your customers are fellow engineers. You will build the tools, platforms, and patterns that help our development teams move faster and focus on meaningful work. Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and debugging of new and existing software.
- Write clean, maintainable code and automated tests following established best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and pair programming to learn and share knowledge.
- Help build and enhance services, tools, and components using modern frameworks and cloud platforms.
- Learn how systems are monitored, supported, and operated in production environments.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Work with teammates and cross-functional partners in areas like cloud automation, usability, and reliability.
- Help reduce complexity and manual effort through automation and reusable patterns.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field and 0-2 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational programming experience in C# and/or .Net but open to one or more other programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Experience or knowledge of working in AWS environment
- Experience or knowledge of Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and development patterns.
Preferred Experience - Experience with CI/CD tools or pipelines (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
- Exposure to build tools like Gradle or Maven.
- Interest in developer tooling, automation, or platform engineering.

Location: This role follows a hybrid work model, working 1 - 2 days per week at our Minneapolis office.

The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.
The annual salary range for this role is: $86,000 - $95,000. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
