Description
As an IT Network System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. You will provide technical support, ensure the stability and security of our systems (networks, servers, and user machines), and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations. This position is based downtown Denver and is onsite M-F. This individual must be available during off hours for critical issues. This individual may travel 30% to 40% conducting plant visits to make recommendations to resolve any IT issues hindering the location.
IT Network System Administrator Responsibilities:
Network
Plan, design, and implement the organization's network Infra including but not limited to LAN, WLAN, and WAN.Capacity planning to ensure system/network scalability and reliability.Support, configure, maintain, and upgrade servers, shared drives, etc.Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet the organization's networking needs.Configure and deploy network equipment, such as routers, switches, ISE, firewalls, WLC, access points, and voice communication platforms, VOIP phone systems, and audio/video solutions across offices.
Security/Monitoring
Maintain and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.Monitor and manage the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services, to identify and resolve potential issues proactively, and identify areas for improvement including bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss.Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.Implement necessary security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to firmware updates, system patches, and configuration backups.
Support/Administration
Respond to system/network/security incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve the same.Manage user accounts and permissions.Configure and manage user machines, SharePoint, O365 Admin Portal, and Active Directory management.Managing and maintaining the file servers.Creating and managing virtual machines.Analyze system logs, diagnostic data, and performance metrics to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.Perform server installations, configurations, and upgrades following best practices and established procedures.Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions for servers and associated data.

Bachelors, Associates or degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or another relevant field or equivalent work experience.Proven experience (3 - 5+ years) as a System/Network/Security Administrator or similar role.Strong knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, IIS, and SQL Server or any relational databaseGood understanding of Linux and Windows network services troubleshooting experience in TCP / IP-based services such as DHCP, DNS, SMTP, NFS, and LDAPFamiliarity with security practices and technologies, including firewalls and malware protection.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, HTML) for automating routine tasks and system administration processes will be an added advantage.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, Cloud, VMWare) are a plus.Experience leading a team is a plus.Potential for up to 20% travel.
IT Network System Administrator Working Conditions:
Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and see, talk, or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, carry, or pull. Required to climb, bend or squat on occasion. Must regularly lift and/or move 20-35 pounds and occasionally lift or pull 35-80 pounds.
