SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and supply of material handling systems. This position will focus on the design and supply unit/package handling, bulk material handling, and automated material handling solutions. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the design process, project management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to manage multiple projects from concept to completion.
JOB DUTIES:Design and Engineering:- Lead the design and engineering of a variety of material handling systems, including unit/package handling, bulk material handling, and automated material handling solutions.
- Conduct site visits and field measurements to collect data critical for designing and planning various types of conveying systems.
- Develop design concept drawings, layouts, and detailed specifications to meet customer requirements and comply with industry standards.
- Create accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain all design documentation.
- Integrate automated equipment and system controls as applicable to enhance operational efficiency.
Project Management:- Plan, coordinate, and execute all facets of multiple projects, including scope definition, scheduling, and budget control.
- Lead project kick-off meetings, design reviews, status updates, and project acceptance processes to maintain alignment with stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, proactively manage risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery without compromising quality.
- Maintain up-to-date and well-organized project documentation and communication records.
Customer and Stakeholder Collaboration:- Attend meetings with stakeholders to understand project requirements across different material handling applications, provide technical consultation, and address concerns.
- Communicate effectively with customers, sales, engineering, production, and external partners to ensure smooth project flow.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams to foster collaboration and trust.
Sales and Proposals:- Support sales efforts by preparing comprehensive proposals, cost estimates, and technical documentation for a broad range of material handling solutions.
- Work closely with customers to tailor solutions that align with their operational goals and business needs.
Cross-Functional Coordination:- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, production, and external resources to ensure seamless project execution and resource availability.
- Coordinate with purchasing and production teams to secure timely procurement and delivery of project materials and equipment.
Continuous Improvement:- Identify and recommend improvements in design and project management processes to enhance efficiency and output quality.
- Stay current with emerging industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in material handling systems to continuously improve company offerings.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and supplying material handling conveyor systems.
- Demonstrated project management expertise encompassing scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for creating engineered drawings and system layouts.
- Strong technical knowledge of diverse material handling systems, components, and automation integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements governing material handling and conveying systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management capabilities.
- Detail-oriented problem solver committed to high-quality results.

If you are hired at Motion, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
- Compensation is from $81,563.33 to $112,099.68 annually
