What You’ll Be Doing - Execute the Maverick Business Unit strategy in full alignment with agreed plans to grow profitable market share across specialist AV, collaboration, and related technologies.
- Lead the vendor pricing strategy in collaboration with the profit team, including price elasticity review, margin protection, and structured exception management.
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to deliver market and performance analysis, using insight to identify trends and develop sound commercial proposals.
- Support the development of direct reports and/or divisional Assistant Category Managers (ACMs), providing guidance, coaching, and clear expectations.
- Own full product and vendor lifecycle management within Maverick, including system accuracy, product adoption and creation, and contract management.
- Hold the operational and commercial relationship with vendor key stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for Maverick.
- Identify commercial and operational process improvements within Maverick workflows, working with internal stakeholders to improve efficiency and execution.
- Ensure consistent and effective use of CRM tools to support forecasting, business continuity, and disciplined commercial management.
- Input into quarterly vendor business planning and support execution against agreed objectives within the Maverick Business Unit.
What You’ll Bring - Highly numerate with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across a matrix organisation.
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience in the IT channel at a category management level, ideally within a distributor or vendor environment, with exposure to finance, purchasing, or product marketing.
- Experience working within a matrix structure.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Business planning experience with a strong operational cadence.
- Experience using enterprise systems such as SAP R3 and business warehouse tools.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
