We are searching for the best talent for a
Principal Platform Engineer to lead the Platform Operations and Engineering capabilities. The preferred location is Raritan, NJ. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.
The Platform Operations and Engineering role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing platform level technical solutions, leading hands-on engineering efforts, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the systems that power Innovative Medicine platforms.
Key responsibilities:- Serve as the technical authority for platform operations, supporting multiple enterprise platforms that deliver critical capabilities across Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.
- Build strong partnerships across business and IT organizations to understand operational challenges, priorities, and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure platform solutions.
- Identify, develop, and implement technology driven optimizations and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Provide hands-on mentorship and technical guidance to elevate the engineering capabilities of the team.
- Define and implement platform architecture solutions supporting data ingestion and integration use cases.
QualificationsEducation:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience and Skills:Required:- 8+ years of engineering experience supporting enterprise software products and platforms
- Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure
- Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines
- Building and deploying Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Data Mesh and/or Data Fabric technologies
- Agile methodologies, test automation, and DevOps practices
- Hands-on experience with collaboration tools like JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, and Bitbucket
- Experience developing SQL queries, Python, React
Preferred:- Experience in a Pharma R&D data ecosystem
- GCP and Azure
- Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks
- Data Pipeline tools like Airflow, AWS Glue, Kafka
- API Development
- Understanding AI concepts and frameworks, including agentic AI, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into product strategies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :$117,000.00 - $201,250.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
- Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
- Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
