CNC Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
Full-Time | Monday – Friday
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
CNC Maintenance Technician
to join our manufacturing team on
1st shift . This full-time role reports to the
Value Stream Manager
and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving CNC equipment and facility systems to ensure the highest levels of safety, productivity, and quality.
The ideal candidate can differentiate between
mechanical, electrical, and setup issues , perform complex repairs, and proactively support continuous improvement initiatives in a high-demand manufacturing environment.
Major Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair
electrical and mechanical issues
on production, quality, and inspection equipment
Quickly diagnose root causes and implement permanent corrective actions
Apply proper
Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)
procedures at all times
Read and interpret
electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
to identify parts and perform repairs
Read layout blueprints and position machinery in compliance with
OSHA and MIOSHA
safety rules and building codes
Support
5S and workflow optimization
when placing or relocating machinery
Obtain and use licenses for moving equipment (lift trucks, man-lifts, cranes, articulating lifts, etc.)
Assess feasibility of
continuous improvement
projects and implement approved modifications
Fabricate minor machine parts, guards, and fixtures as needed
Operate basic shop equipment:
welder, torch, mill, drill press, band saw , etc.
Perform basic machine building, rebuilding, and component repair (valves, cylinders, pumps, clutches, etc.)
Diagnose and perform minor building repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, flooring, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, appliances)
Maintain a strong focus on
safety, housekeeping, and compliance
Stay current with new technologies impacting productivity and quality
Requirements
Strong knowledge of
basic machine principles
and mechanical systems
Experience with:
CNC equipment
5-axis and multi-axis machines
Machine tooling repairs
Electrical alignments
Mechanical repairs
PLC experience a plus
Robotics experience a plus
Programming and troubleshooting experience
Ability to work safely in team environments while moving heavy machinery
Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and take corrective action
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in uncomfortable positions
Frequently lift and carry up to
50 lbs , occasionally more
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience
Electrical experience required
Electrical troubleshooting experience required
