SUMMARY OF POSITIONThis position's purpose is to provide opportunities for the student to experience practical application of mechanical/industrial engineering to supplement classroom learning. The internship will be within the Engineering department of Anderson Power Products based in Sterling, MA. The role reports to and receives work from the Engineering Manager. The position requires interface with all individuals of the organization, outside vendors, customers, and company representatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Design engineering
- Verification testing
- R&D / Prototyping
- Design mechanical components for use in connectors and plastic assemblies
- Perform functional testing to evaluate designs
- Develop modified 3D & 2D drawings from existing designs
- Finite element analysis and exposure to failure modes and effects analysis
- Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Pursuing a four year Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Solidworks proficient
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Problem solving skills
- Mechanical & Electrical aptitude
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Previous internship experience preferred
