Commercial Banking Assistant
A Commercial Banking Assistant ensures the accuracy, timely processing, and completion of loan documents; up to and including all documents and due diligence reports associated with each credit facility, and works daily with both loan and deposit customers resolving issues satisfactorily.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of credit and legal files for the loan department
- Completing Loan Input Worksheets, inputting CIF information for new borrowers and guarantors, and copying documents for lender files; sending original files to Loan Servicing
- Reviewing departmental reports along with other necessary and pertinent reporting to ensure accurate and complete information is added to systems and files; assist with follow-up items on an ongoing basis for exception items
- Preparing loan draws when needed; wire transfers and deposit account transfers
- Following up on exception items, obtain borrower financial statements and other borrower reporting requirements
- Working with relationship managers and customers to open the appropriate DDA accounts to suit the customer's needs; answer customer phone calls and service customer deposit accounts
- Following up with customers to ensure that services are set up in a timely manner
- Cross-selling additional products to customers as the opportunity presents itself
- Transferring funds to and from customer accounts upon request; complete wire transfers as instructed and handle line of credit disbursements and pay-downs with appropriate authorization
- Providing customer service functions with regard to commercial loan accounts including stop payments, loan referrals, ordering checks, establishing credit cards, etc.
- Opening CDs and track CD maturity dates for further customer follow up
- Balancing Cash Items Report, Overdraft Report, and send in Activity Reports
- Performing various administrative responsibilities for the Loan Group Manager, Branch President and Relationship Managers including, but not limited to: opening, sorting, and distributing mail, processing invoices, and creating and typing correspondence
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, some college preferred; and 1-2 years commercial or retail deposit product knowledge, along with loan experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative assistant experience required
- PC proficiency in a Windows environment is required; working knowledge of Word and Excel strongly preferred
- Minimum 6 months previous customer service experience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly and strong orientation towards customer service, a must
