It is responsible for overall integration and stabilization of Ethicon Endo-Surgery's Supply Chain by means of leading the Material Supplier Management function as a Business Unit for direct suppliers.
The Material Supplier Management Director works closely with internal business partners/cross functions and suppliers to improve customer fulfillment and supplier delivery performance and responsiveness, abiding by the spirit of the Johnson & Johnson Credo. The Material Supplier Management Director develops and provides solutions on processes, systems, and reporting capabilities that improve the efficiency of material supply services, using technology and developing key performance indicators necessary to achieve targeted performance goals.
SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*
- In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate
- Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Is the Deliverable Responsible Individual (ORI) for the Ethicon Endo franchise to oversees the management of the direct suppliers' relationship for day-to-day events.
- Maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure excellent and reliable sources of supply and information.
- Partners with Plan & Procurement functions to ensure demand alignment to meet and exceed Ethicon Endo reliability goals.
- Drives Performance Management for Ethicon Endo by means of establishing Key Performance
- Indicators and Supplier Business Reviews/Sales and Operating Process (cS&OPs).
- Leads the operational resolution of emerging supply issues across the Material Supplier
- Management (MSM) network. Identifying non-compliance suppliers and works jointly with
- Strategic Sourcing, External Manufacturing, Quality, Make and LCM to correct or exit if needed.
- Leads discussions with key functional partners Life Cycle Management (LCM), Tech Ops,
- Quality, Planning, Procurement, etc. - to drive resolution of, but not limited to, out of specification materials, discontinued materials, material feed stock changes, suppliers scrap, obsolescence or project expenses resolutions.
- Drives improvements in material reliability, customer fulfillment, supplier delivery performance, and responsiveness.
- Identifies key process improvements for key Internal and External manufacturing sites regarding communication process on disruptions.
- Identifies Proactive Risks mitigations with suppliers, escalate and plan for mitigation in a combined effort with Value Stream Leaders.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level by means of the Short-Term Escalations Management (STEM) and actively work on the resolution.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
- Responsible for leading the Material Supplier Management Function working with team members on their development as Business Unit Managers for the end-to-end suppliers' operational relationship.
- Demonstrate excellent relationship building and connection skills in order to drive quantifiable outcomes, especially with our external suppliers.
- Using their strong collaboration skills and supplier management experience to understand and shape the future End to End Supply Chain
- Oversee deployment of the Integrated Supplier Management (ISM) Strategy through the entire supply chain by means of shaping the Supplier Relationship Team forums and the ISM escalation forums.
- Ability to develop people, manage technology, embrace financial goals and utilize customer focused decision making
- Build strong cross-functional teams, providing feedback and coaching to team members.
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in Plan, Source, Supplier Quality, Operations, Logistics/Supply Chain or technical role within a high volume-manufacturing environment required (medical industry preferred).
- Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field.
- Strong project management skills are a plus. Insight into End-to-End supply chain characteristics and understanding of financial processes such as business case development, P&L calculation and COGS is preferred.
- Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications. Experience with MRP systems, such as SAP, is highly desired.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse supplier base
- Ability to work cooperatively with other cross functions and lead without authority.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in to comply civil rights requirements.
