Main Purpose of the Role:
This position holds the responsibility of securing the maximum volume of cargo onboard the vessels while retaining the highest amount of revenue for the assigned services
Main Tasks:
Negotiates rates (with various commercial customer service functions) such as demurrage, detention pricing, US land transport and cross trade container pricing.
Analyzes proposals and applications for changes in rates, rules, or regulations received from rate bureaus, shippers, sales offices, and other carriers.
Reviews regulations and decisions issued by regulatory agencies on other carriers' rate applications to identify any required updates to our company's rate charts
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Analytical skills.
• 1-2 years' experience in trade pricing positions or equivalent is highly preferred
• Transportation experience with steamship tariffs and service contracts as well as a familiarity with the US Transatlantic trade is a plus.
• Advanced working Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, Power point Data Manipulation, Formulas, Lookups, Filters, Pivot Tables, Etc.
• Experience with Tableau is an advantage
• Shipping industry experience is an advantage.
