Metallurgical Prep Technician

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgical Prep Technician to safely and accurately perform metallurgical sample preparations, such that subsequent testing and evaluations can be conducted in accordance with applicable standards, specifications and customers' PO (purchase order).

Salary: $19- $23/hr DOE

Responsibilities

Section, mount, and polish samples in preparation for metallurgical evaluation.

Setup equipment and perform testing for metallurgical corrosion evaluationsProvide sample support to MetallurgistsWork with other staff to meet the delivery obligations of the metallographic laboratoryEnsure safety of self, coworkers, and visitors by following written and verbal safety proceduresParticipates in company 5S and Safety initiatives

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum high school graduate
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Proactive, self-motivated, team player
Keen to learn
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
General computer skills
