International Welding Engineer Job Summary:Utilizes ISO 14731 International Welding Engineer Certification to develop, refine, manage, coordinate, and oversee the development of ISO 3834 compliant welding procedures, procedure qualification records, weld personnel qualifications, techniques, validation, and safety protocols. Provides the necessary weld engineering knowledge, processing skills and technical support to ensure optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to internal and external customer satisfaction.

- Provide manufacturability input to joint design and material selections for welded structures.
- Develop, qualify, and maintain an International Welding Program that complies with ISO 3834 regulations.
- Identify program welding requirements and oversee qualification efforts to ensure all customer requirements are satisfied.
- Develop and submit welding contract deliverable documentation.
- Develop and maintain standard weld qualification practices to be utilized across multiple internal and external manufacturing locations.
- Provide weld qualification requirements to suppliers and review submission packages.
- Guide weld engineers, inspectors, and other weld personnel on best practices and standards.
- Develop, review, maintain, and control welding techniques, procedures and application of welding equipment. Including WPS's, PQR's and all testing requirements.
- Interpret drawings, weld codes, and standards to develop procedures / qualification plans.
- Develop weld maps, weld procedures, qualification records, work instructions, and welding visual aids.
- Identify and coordinate weld qualification material and equipment needs.
- Coordinate and/or perform destructive and non-destructive weld testing.
- Identify qualification testing requirements for welding personnel.
- Identification of weld fixture requirements. Assistance in tool conceptualization.
- Work with Quality and Production departments to ensure appropriate validation checks are included in weld processes.
- Support lessons learned activities and implementation into quotes and standards.
- Support manufacturing with process and document interpretation.
- Participate in cost reduction efforts and support/implement continuous improvement activities.
- Support corrective actions as required.
- Support Program Management in APQP activities, as well as project cost adherence.
- Consult with customers and provide expertise to maximize the integrity, efficiency, and manufacturability of designs on new and existing projects.
- Provide floor support during trouble shooting activities.
- Assist with customer activities/support as requested.
Competencies: - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and specifications.
- GD&T Comprehension.
Minimum Qualifications:• Must possess a current International Welding Engineer Certification issued by the International Institute of Welding (IIW) per ISO 14731.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability displayed and accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework.
• Searches out new tasks and expands their ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.
• Punctuality and attendance.
• Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.
• Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001.
• Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.
Education / Experience: - ISO 14731 IWE Certification and five (5) years manufacturing experience and/or training.
