Position_Description : The Foreman responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.- Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices.
- Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
- Lays out floor-plan/worksite as needed.
- Determines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure.
- Assigns workers to such tasks as cutting material to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden framework, and laying flooring.
- Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure quality.
- Supervises workers engaged in building timber structures such as cofferdams, trestles, and supports for concrete forms.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
Position Requirements : - A minimum of 2 years of Supervisor or Lead concrete structures carpentry work experience - supervising carpenters, laborers, and concrete finishers.
- A minimum of 8 years of concrete carpenter work for roadways / highways.
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience and understanding of concrete forms, form setting in concrete structures for roadway projects and or bridge projects.
- A minimum of 4 years of reading blueprints work experience in civil projects, concrete paving and roadway concrete (curbs, box culverts, etc.) projects.
