This essential life safety role focuses on the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems and related components in commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties throughout the region. Key Responsibilities
Perform routine fire sprinkler inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 25Conduct repairs and maintenance on sprinkler systems and underground fire linesService and inspect fire extinguishers per code requirementsClearly identify and document system deficiencies, impairments, and follow-up actionsUse BuildOps field software to complete tickets, log time, take photos/videos, and submit documentationCoordinate with office staff and service teams to schedule and execute repairsCommunicate with customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) professionallyMaintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and service vehicleFollow all company safety policies and maintain up-to-date tool and equipment inventory
Qualifications
Required:NICET Level II – Inspection & Testing of Water-Based SystemsWashington State Level ITT LicenseWashington State Backflow Tester CertificationOregon Certificate of Fitness – Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems & UndergroundFire Extinguisher Inspection & Service CertificationStrong working knowledge of NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, and 25Ability to read and interpret system drawings and inspection reportsComfortable using mobile field technology (BuildOps or similar)Excellent communication and documentation skillsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMSome travel required within the Portland Metro and SW Washington region.
Work Location
Field-based role covering Vancouver, WA and surrounding Portland Metro Area.Vanport provides vehicle and travel support for service techs.
