SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department. We are currently looking to hire a
Material Coordinator to perform aspects of technical supply management work.
Supply management work is related to the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities and/or the assembly and delivery of aircraft component kits. This work usually is complex and can cross commodity areas or functions, and varies in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
In this role, you will review production schedules and confer with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. You will also arrange for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules and coordinate with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments. You'll also be responsible for examining material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified.
As a Material Coordinator, you may monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor systems using remote-control panel boards and compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using an adding machine. You'll be responsible for compiling reports of quantity and type of material on hand, moving or transporting material from one department to another using hand or industrial trucks and for compiling perpetual production records in order to locate material in the process of production, using manual or computerized systems. You'll also maintain employee records.
The following are typical job functions but other duties may also be assigned:
- Assignments require a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines
- This position requires consideration of program requirements together with specific variations from standardized guidelines
- Place and Receive Milstrip orders and prepare goods receipts.
- Receive FedEx, UPS, and all other deliveries to our building.
- Verify items, pull packing slips, copy, scan, file/distribute as necessary.
- Place items into the appropriate location(s) and arrange items to be easily identified.
- Disburse items to individual(s) when requested and manage the inventory control process for Ready Issue.
- Support database entries for GEM and OM&S Audit
- Inventory equipment for disposal (DRMO)
- Verify part numbers/model numbers/serial number on various types of equipment.
- May perform as HAZMAT coordinator or work with HAZMAT Coordinator to ensure local HAZMAT is in accordance with regulations
Work Conditions:- Conditions will vary but most work will be performed in enclosed buildings and will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 unassisted and 50-100 lbs. assisted by others.
- Working hours are 0530 to 1500 or 0600-1530.
- Sometimes there will be a need to work flex working hours or overtime.
- Some of the tasks my require the use of Hazardous chemicals and perform work in a noisy environment.
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum three (3) years' relevant experience.
- Fork lift license required.
- Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, and Excel) & Microsoft SharePoint.
- Solid communication skills.
- Works well alone, limited supervision required.
- Works well with others, Customer Service Attitude.
- If performing as HAZMAT Coordinator, a HAZMAT Coordinator Certification is required within 60 days.
- Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
