Do you love retail, thrive on the sales floor, and enjoy helping others do their best work? The Salvation Army Family Store is seeking a full-time Sales Floor Supervisor to serve as a key leader on the sales floor and a trusted support to the Store Manager.
This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, values excellent customer service, and enjoys coaching and supporting a diverse team of employees and volunteers - all while contributing to a mission that truly makes a difference.
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Flexible shifts - weekdays, evenings, and weekends
What You'll Do:
As the Sales Floor Supervisor, you'll be the lead presence on the sales floor during your shifts, helping ensure smooth daily operations and a welcoming shopping experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Modeling outstanding customer service for shoppers, donors, staff, and volunteers
- Maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
- Merchandising donated goods and setting up seasonal and promotional displays
- Ensuring accurate pricing, signage, and product presentation
- Proving day-to-day guidance, training, and coaching to staff, volunteers, and community service workers
- Supporting opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and register balancing
- Addressing customer questions or concerns professionally
- Monitoring the sales floor for safety, loss prevention, and facility issues
- Supporting store promotions, sales events, and special initiatives
- Communicating updates and expectations from the Store Manager to frontline staff
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling and point-of-sale experience (required)
- Two years of retail, customer service, or thrift store experience (preferred)
- Experience providing on-the-job training or informal leadership (strongly preferred)
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead by example and positively influence others
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic computer and register system skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
Physical & Work Environment:
This roles requires standing and moving throughout the store for extended periods, as well as bending, reaching, and lifting merchandise (up to 50 pounds, with assistance as needed). Work is performed in a retail thrift store environment with typical retail conditions.
