PROGRAM SUMMARY:Work Ready and SNAP EARN programs are administered by the state of Pennsylvania. They operate at a local level, through Partner4Work, and provide workforce development services to eligible participants who experience significant barriers to obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. Participant eligibility focuses on low-income individuals who are enrolled in TANF and SNAP programs. Programs provide comprehensive job readiness, placement, training, and case management services, Services also aim to mitigate social barriers to employment.
POSITION SUMMARY:The Careers Services Instructor will provide instruction, orientation, curriculum development, and overall client support to those participating in modules through EARN and Work Ready programs. This position will provide instruction to clients with a variety of barriers, including adult learners and individuals with disabilities. The instructor will facilitate in various Goodwill locations and must be able to deliver training both in person and virtually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Included but not limited to:
Classroom Instruction and Client Support:- Facilitate orientation, HIPAA training, and short-term credentialing sessions with program participants.
- Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures and support the use of the LMS and other technology in the delivery of training and development content.
Curriculum Development and Training Materials:- Research, outline and plan curriculum and lesson plans around departmental and contractual standards.
- Organize and assist with the development of training procedure manuals, guides and other course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
Documentation and Reporting:- Monitor, evaluate, and record training and development activities on program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate client records and report attendance in accordance with funding source requirements.
- Ensure the secure transfer of all required information necessary for referring programs and funders to meet compliance.
Policy and Program Standards:- Be aware of and follow guidelines for all applicable regulatory entities such as Literacy Pittsburgh, Department of Public Welfare, Department of Labor and PA Department of Education.
- Communicate production/job specific expectations to the client; meet regularly with site management to ensure communication of business needs.
- Correctly complete and submit all required and requested program documentation and attend required professional development programming.

Location: South Side Opportunity Center (attached to our Goodwill South Side retail store) - 2700 E Carson St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
External Hiring Range: $17.33 - $19.18
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Occasional evening or weekends based on program needs.
Travel Required: Occasional travel is required to Goodwill and community sites in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or equivalent AND 5 years of experience required. OR
- Associates degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or other related field AND 3 years of experience required. OR
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or other related field AND 1 year of experience required.
- Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating instruction, required.
- Student teaching and practicum experiences are accepted.
- Experience with curriculum in job readiness, professional development or workforce development areas, preferred.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:- Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints Clearance, and PATCH) prior to their first day of employment.
