The Clinovators Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive primary care for veteran populations. In this role you provide diagnosis, care, and treatment of assigned/unassigned patients with acute care needs. The physician will demonstrate proficiency in practice, managing both regulatory and complex patient care with the focus on Veteran Health and strategic planning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Mangage patient panel of 700-900
- Provides episodic, preventive, and acute health care to veteran patients
- Conducts histories and physical examinations and prescribes medications and / or medical treatments based on best practice standards
- Develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients; educates and advises on medical issues as needed
- Provides referrals both internally and externally to appropriate medical resources or specialty
- Evaluates the effectiveness of medical care and monitors progress of patients
- Participates in the development of annual health center goals and objectives
- Maintains medical records using the appropriate EMR
- May formulate and administer health programs as needed
- Supports veteran specific mental health needs
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience ordering appropriate tests and incorporate results for treatment plan, as well as initiating or expediting requests for consults, special tests, or studies
- Experience providing effective medical treatment, consultation, and diagnosis upon request from a Veterans patient base
- Must have demonstrated experience with interpersonal communication and team leadership
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (in person, electronically, and/or by telephone), with internal and external customers
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology specific to understanding medical diagnosis and procedures
- Veteran or VA patient care experience highly preferred
- CPRS (EMR) and Vista Scheduling System experience is a plus
Required Qualifications:
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- At least three years of post-residency clinical experience
- Experience in a primary care, urgent care or emergency room setting. Occupational healthcare experience may apply in some clinics.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state within which the site is located
- Must be Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Primary Care or Emergency Medicine by the AOA or ABMS or Board Eligible in aforementioned practice areas.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations. collaborative environment.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
