POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for monitoring, review, and documentation of all accounting transactions for preparation of reporting financial results, short- and long-term cash flow management. Assists management in evaluation of projects and the impact on the accounting and finance function, internal controls, operating systems, and budgeting/forward-looking financial performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Reviews and approves the financial statements, month-end, and year-end closing processes in a timely manner.
- Reviews and approves company financial statements for accuracy and clarity.
- Maintains, monitors, and enforces internal control guidelines.
- Manages efforts during internal and external auditing process.
- Manages the balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Liaison with software development team regarding reporting and other system requirements.
- Verifies the integrity of systems and processes in place.
- Prepares required regulatory reporting and internal reports.
- Owns the 13-week rolling cash flow forecast, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and proactive identification of liquidity risks.
- Partners with the CFO and business leaders to prepare, maintain, and update the annual budget and rolling forecasts, including variance analysis and explanation of key drivers.
- Monitors actual performance versus budget and forecast, providing clear analysis and actionable insights to management.
- Manages tax reporting and compliance.
- Reviews the development and issuing of inventory cost factors.
- Maintains good communication channels within the company and outside customers. Will interact with all levels and functions.
- Directly supervises employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies.
- Management of one or more of the following areas: Financial Reporting, Budgets, Insurance Data, and Banking.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESAccounting, Financial Reporting & Budgets, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and Payroll
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS- BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business focus, CPA/Masters Degree and/or a demonstrable controller experience of a $50M-500M organization preferred
- Seven plus years of Accounting/Finance Management experience in a corporate environment
- Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel, ERP system data (Dynamics BCa plus)
- Able to efficiently use financial data mining tools
- Knowledge inventory heavy standard cost and manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
- Experience in a consumer products industry.
- Proven analytical skills
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills - ability to thrive in a team environment
- Initiative - ability to work and achieve objectives independently
- Able to manage multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines
- Strong Problem Solving and Process Improvement Skills
WORK ENVIRONMENTA collaborative, open space work environment located on the second floor of the 40,000 sq. foot facility located in Broomfield, Colorado. The Controller is in an office near the Accounting and Finance team, these members share a common desk area.

Salary range for the Financial Controller position is $130,000-$160,000 annually based on education and prior experience.
