The Market & Competitor Analytics Team ensures the delivery of standardized market models and quarterly competitive reporting of Market & Share across the J&J MedTech portfolio. These materials are delivered to the MedTech Leadership Team members, Business Unit leadership teams, and Global Strategic Marketing to provide transparent oversight of market performance and competitiveness. The Sr Manager, Market & Competitor Analytics is a critical role, overseeing the work quality of this team, while ensuring continuous process improvement and team coaching and development.
Major Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee the development and delivery of market and competitive analytics in support of MedTech Business Units (BU) and their respective platforms
- Coach team members to effectively align with BUs and Platform team members to ensure consistent methodologies for measuring market size, share, and growth across the competitive landscape
- Cultivate a team environment and culture of continuous learning about the MedTech market through knowledge sharing, business acumen, and product awareness
- Collaborate with BU stakeholders to understand market dynamics and business priorities to deliver relevant insights
- Perform advanced analytics to reveal insights related to market and share, New Product Introductions, and customer dynamics
- Evolve reporting visualization capabilities to generate self-service analytics via PowerBI and/or Tableau
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality control in the identification of anomalies
- Demonstrate prioritization skills and sense of urgency to deliver on projects deadlines
Required Qualifications- BS, BA (or equivalent) in business analytics, finance, data science, or related field
- 8-10 years professional experience and leading teams
- People Management: Ability to coach and mentor team members/people leaders to develop critical skillsets, creating a positive environment for employees to grow
- Communications: Articulate clear, concise, and timely messaging to stakeholders and team members; written and spoken English fluency essential
- Business Acumen: Understanding of the J&J portfolio and platforms, as well as the external competitor and market dynamics
- Financial Acumen: Analyze sales, market, and share performance and utilize financial planning models (e.g., Budgeting, Sales Forecasting, Financial Data Analysis)
- Project Management: Rigorous execution of strategic priorities in accordance with timelines
- Tech Skills: Advanced technical capabilities to deliver market models & insights that enable informed decision making (e.g., MS Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
- Travel %: 5-10% Domestic
