SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced
BI Developer to support activities out of our Colorado Springs, CO location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.
Leveraging Microsoft's Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint, this role works closely with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline workflows, support data-driven decision-making, develop custom dashboards for tracking key performance indicators, and enhance overall productivity.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a strategic understanding of business needs, ensuring that solutions are effective, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities:- Design, build, and maintain solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint
- Develop custom applications, dashboards, and automated workflows to address business needs
- Lead the design of data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions using Power BI to deliver actionable insights
- Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements that support data-driven decision-making
- Connect Power BI to multiple data sources and optimize performance using DAX, Power Query, and visualization best practices
- Identify opportunities for process automation, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency using Power Automate
- Develop, customize, and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, and workflows
- Design and implement ETL processes, including use of SSIS where applicable
- Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures (T-SQL) and enhance SSRS reports as needed
- Extend Power Platform capabilities using PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, VBA, or C#
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, business analysts, and project/product managers on cohesive solution delivery
- Provide documentation, training, and support to encourage adoption of developed solutions
- Establish and follow best practices for development, security, governance, and lifecycle management
- Use version control systems to manage designs and codebases
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Business Analytics
- 5 - 7 years of experience in power apps/BI development or related field
- Strong experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query, SharePoint
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
- May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, and carrying or lifting up to 20 pounds
- Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated
Preferred Qualifications:- 8 - 10 years of experience in power apps/BI development or related field
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Certifications: MS Power Platform Fundamentals or Associate
- Experience with SQL / T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
- Experience with VBA, Python, C#, PowerShell, or JavaScript
- Experience using Visual Studio or similar development environments
- Experience implementing or integrating AI-enabled features within Power Platform
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Azure)

Pay Range
Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA's total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.
