ResponsibilitiesThe role...As a Commercial Loan Assistant, you are primarily responsible for assisting commercial lenders.
A Day in the Life...- Verify, compile, and complete loan applications.
- Prepare new loan requests to submit to loan processing, review the loan file to verify that data is complete and meets established standards.
- Process documentation of loans and extensions, close loans and prepare for booking, as well as compute payment and interest.
- Resolve exceptions or any other documentation deficiencies along with actively managing outstanding exception items for compliance with Credit Policy.
- Work closely with the assigned officers to assist in collecting financial data and member phone/email communication to better manage the overall member relationship.
- Monitor reports such as past due, paid off loans, criticized assets, and maturing loan lists to assist and proactively inform officer of potential or pending issues
- Coordinate and facilitate funding of construction loan disbursements when needed.
QualificationsTo do this successfully you:
- Have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
- Have 2 years of related experience
- Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Previous loan or loan documentation experience.
- Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
