Job Description Job Summary:As a workplace practice leader, this candidate will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and operational success of Hoefer Welker's commercial but more specially, workplace practice nationwide. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, primarily focused on strategy development, people management, and outreach and business development across various building owners, brokers and end-users.
Essential Functions:- Support Hoefer Welker's comprehensive market analyses to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the commercial workplace sector.
- Establish a clear vision for the west region that aligns with Hoefer Welker's overall objectives, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and client satisfaction. This involves implementing best practices in project management and design processes to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
- Build and lead a diverse team of architects, designers, and project managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative practice group within a work environment based on empathy and perspective.
- Mentor and develop staff through targeted training programs and performance evaluations, ensuring that team members have clear career development paths. Building a positive workplace culture that encourages creativity, accountability, and inclusivity is central to Hoefer Welker's leadership approach.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while proactively identifying new business opportunities within target markets.
- Establishing strategic partnerships with developers, contractors, brokers, and industry stakeholders will be essential for expanding the practice's reach and influence including but not limited to marketing initiatives, such as presentations and project showcases, aimed at enhancing the practice's visibility and reputation within the industry.

Job Requiremetns Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, engineering planning or related consultancy or equivalent in education or experience, Master's degree preferred. Minimum 10+ years' experience in business development and client management and leading high performing teams in architectural industry.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Architectural registration required with current license, NCARB registration preferred. LEED Green Associate Accreditation desired. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the courses of employment.
Required Skills/Abilities: Microsoft Office knowledge required. Deltek Vantagepoint knowledge preferred. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, meet deadlines, and have knowledge of design, trends, and construction methodology. - Strong understanding of the business of design, including financial metrics, fee structures, and project delivery models.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal teams and external clients.
- Understanding of market trends, knowledge of current leaders and peers within the design community
- Proven skills in engaging both current and new clients that are both introduced through firm wide connections and individual strategic pursuits
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and possess strong writing skills to represent the firm professionally externally as well as internally
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action
- Ability to travel to travel nationally for client meetings, business development, and team engagement
