- Providing technical support of systems including preventive maintenance, installation, evaluation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, testing, and modification. Fully comprehends and trains staff on the complex interrelations between the major components and subsystems.
- Responsible for installation and programming the logic ladder software within the programmable logic controllers (PLC's) utilizing a personal computer. Responsible for reprogramming PLC's as necessary to improve traffic performance of the conveyor system and optimizes individual machine PLC's by modifying the existing software by resetting timers and logic in the multiple layers of the ladder program.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, replace and reprogramming old or poorly functioning PLC's.
- Responsible for assisting in programming laser scanners and decoders on the conveyor system utilizing a personal computer, PLC's or other host computers.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the robotics used in the production systems.
- Serves as the primary service technician for physical security and related equipment.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

QualificationsIN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING:Specialized Experience for the position includes:- Work as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic (civilian or military) that showed progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory, and of the characteristics, function, operation, and capabilities of a variety of types of electronic equipment. This experience must have included the use of schematic diagrams, a variety of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing and instructing on electronic equipment, or similar functions.
- Experience in developing policies, standards, and procedures for maintenance, installation, or similar functions, provided the work clearly shows that the applicant applied a specialized knowledge of the theories and principles of a variety of electronic systems or equipment.
Additional Specialized Experience includes providing comprehensive technical support for automated equipment systems such as automatic packaging systems, tote conveyor systems, and automated medication counting systems; providing comprehensive technical support for subsystems such as controllers, sensors, bar code scanners, industrial controls and equipment, pulse and counting mechanisms, monitors, and data terminals; performing preventative maintenance, installation, evaluation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, testing and modification of systems; installation and programming the logic ladder software within the programmable logic controllers (PLC's) utilizing a personal computer. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.)
~OR~SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: You must have successfully completed two and a half (2 1/2) years of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the Electronics Technician - position such as electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. (

Physical Requirements: Requires working in unusual positions while assembling and disassembling equipment and tedious bench work while working on electronic assembles. The work performed is of a precise nature requiring prolonged concentration, and mental demands are high. The incumbent must be able to interact effectively with all levels of CMOP staff and must remain calm and analytical even under stress. Lifting and moving of devices weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis is required.
